■ « ■ HAMMERS, CUDGELS, AND STONES. SEVERAL BADLY INJURED. 600 POLICE RESTORE ORDER. (By Cable.—Press Association.-Copyright.) I (Received 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, July 11. The rioting which arose out of the London dock strike on Tuesday was renewed to-day, when a fierce skirmish was fought between several' hundred strikers and non-unionists. The men were armed with hammers, heavy cudgels, and broken iron railings, and the parties came into collision in the Surrey and Commercial Docks. Two non-unionists were seriously injured during the affray. Police reinforcements were hurried to the scene, a squad of GOO restoring order. The outbreak was renewed at lunch time, when several of the noii-iinionitrts were badly injured by volleys of stones. The Marquis of Tullibardine (Unionist member for West Perthshire), at the Dock Strike Committee's instance, has conveyed a message to Lord Devonport (Chairman of the Port of London Authority) that the men arc willing to resume work on certain conditions. Lord I>>vonport refused to receive the message, in which the men offered to go back to work provided that a month hence the employer will meet some of their representatives. The Bishops of London, St. Albans, and Southwark. in a manifesto, declare that the strike is a national calamity and a reproach to Christianity. The masters have promised, it is remarked, to listen to grievances, and as this must involve some consultation with the men an arbitrator ought to be able to bring the parties together. ■
