DEEP LEVEL CROSSCUT. la answer to questions put by Mr. ft. Hudson at the meeting of the'Thune* Deep Levels Board yesterday afternoon tile information was furnished that, at the completion of the present contract for driving the main crosscut at 1000 ft there will be another 120 ft to be driven. Including subsidiary crosscuts, there will be about 700 more feet to be driven to complete the whole work at the low ItevcL MX. LJELL BETURJsS. (Received 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The Mt Lyell returns from Mar Iβ to June 16 inclusive show that 22,970 tons of ore were treated, also 43 tons of purchased ore. The converters produced 407 tons of blister copper, containing 402 tons copper, 33,1160z silver, and CSOoz gold. The low output is due to the con* tinued scarcity of labour. MINE MANAGERS" REPORTS. Monowai.—During the week ended Jnne 12th, the Monowai crushed 123 tons of ore. The daily eam-pte from the Hp of the boxes gave an average assay value of 17/6 per ton in pold and silver alone. Occidental Consolidated. —A few feet of the reef in tie sooth face lias been broken down, and the ore showed very favourable indications, but no sold w? seen. The country is of « good class, but at present is parting a little too freely from the reef. The fitbpe is yielding some very promising ponera] ore, and a little c«lrt has been seen in that broken out this week.
