' i* Stockton, California, a robber, ■ armed and with his face, blackened, held xivfer' launch containing a pleasure robbed them of all their valuables and compelled the engineman to land all gjjoaid, and pursue another launch with 'the intention of robbing the occupants. The en ff ineman, by a ruse, knocked the jobber overboard. The passengers returned aboard the loat, and beat the robber to death, using oars. The body has been recovered.
