It was stated at a meeting of the Christcburch City Council that there are a lot of incompetent persons driving taxi-cabs jn the city who should not be allowed tot hold as»license. A Councillor remarked that if all the dilapidated cars turned off by private owners continued to become taxi-cabs, the whole of the streets would be required for stands. If things went on without some examination of drivers, there would be serious accidents. He moved that the By-laws Committee should be asked to .frame a by-law providing an examination for drivers.
