AID FROM THE TRAMWAY MEN.
RESULT OF AUCKLAND BALLOT. Yesterday the Auckland Tramways Union held a ballot of its members to reject the-resolution passed at a, spfceial meeting on 30th May.: " That a levy in aid of the Waihi and Recfton miners be struck of two shillings per member per week, and that a ballot of the whole of the members be taken to confirm, or otherwise this resolution." The ballot resulted as follows:—
There were six informal votes, the proposal thus being adopted by a majority of 29. The levy will-start from -Ist June.
DELEGATES ON TOUR.
Mr. VV". E. Parry, vice-president of the Federation of Labour, addressed a meeting of two or three hundred waterside workers this morning, and on b_.alf.ol the Federation placed the position of the Waihi dispute before the'men. Mr. P. Fraser (president of the Auckland General Labourers' Union), who is a member of the Federation executive, also addressed the meeting, which gave the dele-, gates a sympathetic hearing.
