Anderson has been appointed :by Cabinet to be inspecting working ! engineer for mental hospitals and or- . dinary hospitals. The Bight Hon. James Bryce was the j est of the New Zealand Club at Jiincb- , eon t-o-day. He will leave Wellington . for the South this evening. Mr. C G. R. Gore, who has been shipping clerk in the Auckland Customshouse for many years, has 'been appoint;ed collector at Oamaru. Before his dei parture Mr. Gore was presented with a ' souvenir by the local staff. , Mr. James L. Young, of the firm of ! Henderson and Macfarlane, has been appointed a director of the London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company, in place of Mr. G. Dunnett, retired. Mr G. Da_>yshire, who has been town clerk of the borough of Te Kuiti since its inception, left this morning en route for I_iga.vi_le, where he will take up his duties of town clerk at an. early date. The appointment of Dr. J. -dcNaughton Christie as New Zeaiand representative at the International Congress on gynaecology and obstetrics, in Berlin next September, has been approved by Ca-Mnet. "VTt.
