In the House of Commons to-day Mr. Austen Chamberlain moved a resolution declaring that Mr. McKenna's action in connection with the strike was unconstitutional, and that tbe Government's constant interferences were fomenting unrest. The appeal of Messrs. Gosling and Till.t to trade unionists declares that all spare funds have been depleted. Leggatt (secretary of tbe London Carmen's Union) was arrested for interfering with a non-unionist driver. He was fined £2 or a month, and chose imprisonment. The British Seafarers' Union has joined the strike. There are now 4000 on strike at j Southampton, 6000 at Swansea, and 8000 lat Bristol, where all dock work has ceased. j At a meeting of the West Ham Council tbe Mayor refused Mr. Will Tborne. At Manchester 10,000 are affected. j The Teeside dockers decided not to (strike. The leaders of the Leith dockers, and seamen and firemen, condemned the national strike.
