UPPER QUEEN-STREET TRAMS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I am glad to learn that the movement to have the tram lines bid through upper Queen-street to Karangahape-road is not being allowed to die out. There is no doubt that this service would not only be a great convenience, but will soon become an absolute necessity. I note that at present the matter is being urged by a committee of citizens representing the property-owners and various musical societies, bat I cannot; onderstand why the City Counof, which is the proper body to take the matter up with tbe Tramway Co., is doing nothing in the matter. Is it waiting for the citi ? Zens to act? If so, I am sure a monster petition can easily :be got up to ur"» the matter on.—l am, etc ° ' PRCGEESS.
