The Ellerslie Town Board met last evening, when there were present: Messrs Geo. \V;!sUnson (chairman), W. A. GaTin, A. inn, I BJii! S. Somerfteld. . Atrpointment of Turncock. — ?«ir *• imtta-m -was appointed turncock and board's sanitary inspector for the district. Additional Trains.—A letter was receded from the district trafac manager. In answer Ito the requisition sent in for a train to be ! pnt on from Otaliuhn in time to reach Auckland at 8.20. Outbreak of Fire—lt was resolved tfc.it a letter be sent to the captain and members of the volunteer fire brigade, expressing ■ the Board's appreciation of their efforts at i the fiTe which destroyed Mrs Hill's honse, i and the clerk was instructed to write to I tie secretary of the Royal Humane Society. I pointing out that Mr W. Kean had plunged i Into the 'burning honse iind carried out a woman who had fainted. A Condemned House.—The clerk was instructed to write to Mr W. G. Fire Brigade.—An application was re celved from the fire brigade for uniforms and a bell for erection near the station. It "was held that tho roads 'wore not moans for traffic of that kind, and It was unanimously -resolved that the clerk write to the adjoining local bodies asking them to cooperate in taking immediate action in the matter. Recitations and nronolofrucs were dellvcrcrl by Miss Shepherd and Miss Pascoe.
