CLAIM. •R. Peace and Sons v. W. J. Anderson and A. C. Steele, claim £21 1/-% alleged to be ftne in connection .with a -building for St. James' Church.—Mr. A. E. Skelton appeared for tbe plaintiff and Mr. R. l>. Bagnan lor the defendant Sir. Steele, who deposed after we went to press to iaving signed the contract on behalf of the Buildtug Committee. On the 3rd of October the bniMtog was Sanded over. She final payment was made on the 22nd of December in inspect to the contract- AH the money dne on the contract had been paid to the defendant Anderson. Witness produced the architecfe <*n«i certificate upon -vehicb the last payment of £25 -was paid. Mr. Ketfe said- he vronld take time to consider the point raised by Mr. Bagiiali that the final payment Ih&d been m&de to'Anihsuuu before notice was given by pluiatltt of his claim under the Protection of "S&ges and Contractors' Wen Act.
