ARCHBISHOP REDWOOD.
SHrVEB JUBELEE. (By Telejrupo.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Archbishop Redwood was presented this evening with addresses from Raman Catholics and Hibernians, and with a. purse of sovereigns from the Roman laity to commemorate his silver jubilee as archbishop. Th«» cermony tok .place in the Town Hall, -which was packed. Colonel' Collins, C.SLCL, presided, and among those present were Bishops Grimes, deary, Verdon, flic Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout), Mr. Justice Chapman, the Prime Minister (Hon. T. Mackenzie), and several other members of the Cabinet. In the course of his address Archbishop Eedwood said he hoped that within two y-earp the foundation would be laid of the * new cathedral. The funds collected up to the present amounted to £18,300. The first portion to be erected would accommodate about 1200 people, but eventually the cathedral would hold 3000. The Archbishop announced thai he had received a cablegram from the Pope congratulating him upon his silver jubilee.
