The "Manchester Guardian" states that it is reported that a shipping group is endeavouring to arrange for a combine of the Orient, New Zealand Shipping, British-India, and Union Steamship Companies of New Zealand. It is further rumoured that the combine will offer to buy the Peninsular and Oriental Company.
