. m (By Telegraph.Press Association.) CRIME PUNISHED. CHEISTCHIIRCH, this day. At the Supreme Court this day, Edward Michael Wood, alias Edward Taylor, for housebreaking and theft was ordered, to be returned to the Burnham Industrial School. William Cooper, for two charges of forgery and uttering, was committed to the Salvation Army Home. Alfred Robinson and Edward Watson appeared on charges of theft at Greymouth, and Oliver Robinson, on a charge of theft and receiving stolen property. The Robinsons were sentenced to six months each, and Watson to three months. James Bartley, for forging and uttering a cheque for £23, received six months, while Joseph Bobinson, with several aliases, was sentenced to four years for assault and robbery. MISCELLANEOUS. CHRISTCHUR.CH, this day. Bert Smith, an ex-bookmaker, was fined £20 and costs this morning for betting on the Riccarton racecourse.
