Justin McCarthy was born at Cork in IS3O. In his -arly manhood he ms a journalist, holding, among other important positions, that of leader writer c the "London Dany News." In IST9 he essayed pobtics. and "is elected M.P. for Longford Conn''-. Later he represented Deny City in the House of Commons, and in 1322 was head of the poll at- v onk Longford. 1". His novels vere many, including "Miss Misan- I tnrODe''and "Maid of .Uhenv" He wrote | several histories, including "A History of i Oar Otra Tiroes,"' "Life of Pope Leo !
