AN IMPORTANT PROPOSAL. REDUCING SHAREHOLDERS' UABii-r-Ti! ; : ..'■.» The directors of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency are about to submit to shareholders, proposals of a most important character, and which are considered to be in the interest of both shareholders and debcniureholders. Full details will not be available until the circular containing the scheme is forwarded to shareholders, which will probably be to-r_orrow, but it is understood that the proposals will relieve . shareholders of £3 10/ per share of the present liability. This will entail calling up a portion of the balance of -5 per share, bixt tbe redaction of the liability will be ample compensation to sharehold ;rs. Moreover, it is understood, that in ea ling up any capital the scheme JO be submitted will he of such a character that shareholders will not be in any way harassed.
