GISISORNE, this day.

The operative butchers in the retail trade strike at thren o'clock this afternoon. Recently an award was arranged on the Auckland scale, but the masters declined to sign. ITie men have now intimated that unless the award is signed by three o'clock they will strike. The masters are sitting "tight Thirty men are concerned.
