Parr en Saturday visited the cemetery with the Victoria League officials. It is proposed to remove the old s-nd broken iron railings, aad to put dov.n solid concrete slabs to mark the last resting places of thoee who (ell in the Mtori wars. Amongst other graves requiring attention are thnsn of rcloncl Nixon, LieiitenantColonel Kpmpt Captain John Shaw Phelps, T/ieutensnt Stuart Menticth. Oaptnin Smith, R.N., and Captain Rinp. Thß Mayor adds that it ia quite timn that these rneting-places Bhould ho placed in order, having in mind the quotation that no nation it great which forpets itr dead heroes.
Xcxt week the Mayor is to drive the first pile of the new Shelly Beach baths. The Work 3 Committee of " the City Council is also, at its next meeting" to consider a proposal from the various swimming clubs that the size of the proposed neW Customs-street baths should be Increased.
