ATHLETICS.

E. H. Cuekaey, the well-known cyclist and foot-aller,7has left Auckland for Helensvil'le, where he has gone into business. The fund to send G. N. HUI to the Olympic Games is not getting the support anticipated and the amount collected so far falls a long way below that required. The continued absence from town on business of Mr. J. P. Jerret. secretary of the Amateur Athletic Club, has somewhat hampered the movement, but it is understood the King's College Old Boys' Association, of which Hill is a member, are taking a hand in the matter, and this should greatly help. The time is very short before Hill takes his departure, and those in authority will need to bustle a bit if the necessary amount is to be collected.
