INCIDENTS AT SAMILXOX. " (By Telegraph, Pwu On ia».Lni)itanS) HAMILTON, This day. At a meeting of the Wail—io Nolicense League, the deputation which waited on <ien_a! Go-jjP6y, a« his own request, regarding drunkennees and misbehaviour of men 'belonging to the first camp on Saturday night last, reported tint General Godley received them with great courtesy and friendliness. He had first thought the reports exaggerated, but when first-hand evidence was laid before Mm he was satisfied that the action of the Council was justified. He expressed gratification for the prompt action taken and thanked the deputation for co-operation in tho efforts to promote tho welfare of the Territorials. He pointed out that perfect conditions could not be attained at once. He would make regulations to minimise the chances of a repetition of Saturday night's performance. The deputation also reported that it visited-the camp on several occasion* this week, and wiahed to congratulate Major Cumaaing and the officers on the adm_able behaviour of the troops under their charge. Col. Wolfe inspected the 16th Regiment yesterday ana again to-day. He expressed himself delighted with the exceHont work being done and the good progress made. He wa« glad to hear if the exemplary behaviour of th_ tmen, who had entered into the duties with enthusiasm and with a desire to make them- , Salves thoroughly efficient.
