S&WVON aCHOOLS COMMTTTtBIB. The monthly meeting of the Newtoo Schawls Committee was held on Wednesday evening. By invitation of the committee, Mr Jletge (headmaster of the Newton Bast School) was also present to express hie views on the school houre. Mj Metge, In the course of his remarks, said the hours adopted by the Cotamittce at its last meeting were working to better advantage than the earlier hours adopted auring the month of February, but as far as hie school was concerned tie old hours more more satisfactory. The need of a water trough has long 'been felt, and some of the energetic residents are using their beet end«"avonrs to procure the aid of the Road Board in having a trough erected at the gas lamp in the centre of the road at the jnnction of 6reat North and New North roads.
