The Auckland coopers' dispute, in | which a partial settlement was arrived at a few days ago, was again before the Conciliation Council to-day, when a full settlement of the clauses which were left in advance was arrived at,. Wages have been increased from £2 15/ to £2 18/6 piT week. The rates of pay of apprentices have also been increased. Special provision has been made for hours of work in relation to coopers working in breweries. The award is for a period of two years, and is to take effect as from March 10 next. At the close of the proceedings Mr. A. Naticn, for the employers, moved, and Mr. W. Ashforth, for the Union, seconded a hearty vote of thanks to the Commissioner for the able services rendered by him which had been conducive to a full settlement of the dispute. A promenade show in the furnishing show rooms, at the J.C.L. corner store, Queen-street. The new "Court" art wall fabrics, the new art furnishing and c&ement fabrics, arc well worthy of a special visit. — (Ad.)
