"BWEBT COUSTY KBEBT." The pretty Irish drama. "Sweet County Kerry," in which Mr. AUeu Doone. the singing comedian, has made snrh a favourable impression on Auckland people, was produced at His Majesty's Theatre for the second time last night. It will be repeated to-night. THE OPERA HOUSE. Vaudeville was again popnlar at the Opera Honse last evening. Several of the performers did very clever turns, and were loudly applauded. THELMA PETERSEN CONCERT. ■Miss Thelma Petersen, the young contralto singer, who has coine so prominently before the public- recently, is making her first appearance in Auckland at the Town Hall to-night, when she will be assisted by some of the leading talent of the city. VTIRTH'S CIRCUS. Notwithstanding the threatening state of the weather, there was « very large attendance at Wirth's Circus last evening, when the second performance of the Auckland season was given. Tbe star turn of the evening was undoubtedly that of the Polar bears, trained by Herr Schmidt, whieh Is a little short of marvellous. The Flying Jordans, the Bastiens, the Adeli Sisters, and George and Atoris and La Van provide exceptionally clever turns, wnfle the lesser acts all go to make np a very strong programme. Tbe performance will be repeated this evening. OTHER ENTERTAINMENTS. The Lyric Theatre was well attended last evening. The current programme Is an excellent one, and should attract large attendances nightly during the week. The Queen's Theatre's latest programme la proving popular with the public. Today's sessions were well patronised. The great Irish and Scotch dramas "Arrsh-na-Pogne" and "Anld I«ng Syne " served to bring many .people bailing from the Emerald Isle and also from the Land o- Takes along to the King's Theatre last evening. The Newton Picture Palace bad the nsnai sessions throughout yesterday. There was general!v a good attendance. Tbe Empire Theatre introduce a change of programme this evening. The Prince'a Rink was well patronised daring last evening's session. West's new programme, to be presented at the Royal Albert Hall this evening, eontains many excellent subjects, including ••An Aeroplane Klopement," in which an exciting race between an express train and a flying maeulne is portrayed. --Oolden Tulips" Is (£._ eolonred Outch study by Pathe's latent - process. "A "CSWee on Norwegian Fiords" Is said to be very line. "Banting the Moose" Is another travel picture that nbonld be Interesting. "The Inner Mind" Is a detective story, and scenes In the wild West are displayed in "The Sheriff of Tnolumme." Pathe a Oasette Is. as nana!, full of topical snapshots. "Kdlnoß's Comedy." "Mike's Heto." ••Willie's First Cigar." and "Betty Minds Honse" should provide ample amusement to all. MISS FLETCHER'S CONCERT. The students of Miss Di.ia Fletcher gave a verv successful recital In St. Andrews Hall last evening. Miss Alice Coombe. whose voice haa considerably improved of late, sang "Tell Me My Heart" pleasingly. Two numbers, "Orpheus with his Lute" and "The Swallows," were contributed by Miss Brooke-Rnrlth, who has a sympathetic voice of considerable promtset "My Dearest Heart" was charmingly sang by Mfes Rita Gannaway, and Miss HettyTlzard was also in good voice. "Ave Maria," with violin and organ accompaniment, -wma song by Miss MeMaster, and was 6ne of the most enjoyable items of the evening. Miss Phllcox gave a successful rendering ef "Caro Mlo Ben." The part song, "A May Morning," was prettily •nng, and Measra. J. Cantley and F-Hamll-ton sang the dnet, "Watchman. What of the Night?" in n tnneful manner.
