SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY.
I (To tie Editor.) Sir, —We are surprised to gee by your! report of the meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council that Councillor F. if. King should allow himself to be appointed delegate to the Auckland City , Council, with instructions to support the Wednesday half-holiday. We do not know if Councillor King himself supports this, but we do know that tbe political party to which he belongs, and for whom he worked very hard, were very anxious to let the voters know that they, as candidates, were unmistakably in favour of the Saturday halfholiday. Would Councillor King deny to others that boon he himself enjoys.— I am, etc., j A SATURDAY AFTERNOON' WORKER.
