Second Beat.—Mason (stroke), 1: Hill (stroke), 2. Won easily by three lengths. Third Heat.—Anderson (stroke), 1; Cannon (stroke), 2; Hellaby (stroke), 3. An exciting finish, in which Anderson got the verdict bv six inches. I Final.—Sinel, Riggs, King, Elliot, 1; j Mason, Gow, Halley, Irvine, 2; Tallis, Walsh, Eastgnte. Harris, 3. Hadfleld pnTled tip with a fine snort and won by balf-a-lengxh. THE GRAND FINAL. The preliminary heats were club races for trophies donated by generous supporters of the Ave clubs taking part. The chief event of the dny, however, was the Rowing Association's final for trophies generously donated by Mr. A. M. Myers. The winning crew from each club was entitled to take part in this race. Five crews faced the starter, the result being:— Auckland (Steel, Rlggs. The New Zealand Power Boat AssoclaHon held its tart crtrtstog race on Saturday afternoon, under highly favourable clrramstances. The launches were got off pronrptly fjam the starting point off Qeeen-atreet wharf, and good progress was made till rouasUng the North Head for Cowes Bay.- The finish was made at the flagship, branch Stater Dora, on which was the Bear Commodore, Mr A. n. Beattey, who acted as judge. Other offlcera of the day were Messrs D. Held and C. H. Faimer. The race lesnlted in Mr Warman's Marore wtua+ng with a 40 ntlimtes' start, beating Mr L. Buehaaaa's Gnstchen, which was second, on a start of 5R minntes by 12 rahsgteg, The third was Mr A. Brett's Ranee B. 05m 12s start}. The Jean, with a atsort of 25m 30b. was fourth. There were nine starters. The Molly, which stopped far a few minntes, would otherwise have been well up at the finish. The> weather wax excellent for racing. TACHTtN"G. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron held its oeeond race on Swtnrrlay, wben a aaeneral taandtaap was held. Seven yacttts estered, and the coarse was from off the Oneen-street whstrf, round Black Buoy, returning same way, rcmndlng mark-boat ot wharf, twice round, finishing between the mark-boa* and wharf, keeping channel side of all fairway marks and buoys and Bean Rock Ugatboose.
