ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
AN AUSTRALIAN COUNCIL. (Received 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The British Association Football Conference adopted a series of resolutions, with the object of popularising and improving th« standard of play, including regular inter-State and interDominion matches, ft was also decided to hold a carnival at Melbourne at an early date. The conference also resolved tiiat the time is opportune for the formation of an Australian Council, and a committee was appointed to draft a constitution. In view of opinions expressed, it appeared that New Zealand did not desire inclusion in the Council.
