SCHOOLS PRIZE DISTRIBUTION.

PAH COIXIXJE. The annual •distribution of prizes took place at '"The Pah" yesterday afternoon. There "was a large attendance of parents and friends of the boys. The Rev. J. Burgin, Vicar.of St> Andrews, Epsom, presided, and ■with him on the platform ■were: Revs. Canon Gould and Haselden, J. King-Davis, 1. W. Clarke, W. Mather, J. Ooeker, Mr. Lang, MP, and the masters of the college. Interesting addresses were given to the boys 'by the chairman, Mr. Lang, and the Rev. J. Cocker. The school prizes were distributed by the chairman, the athletic sports prizes by Mrs. Clark?, and the cadet corps trophies by Mr. W. Fraser, B. A. After partaking of afternoon tea on the lawn, the visitors spent some time pleasantly in inspecting the grounds and building. In reading the annaal report upon teh work of the college, and during the year, the headmaster, the Rev. P. S. Smallfield, said that last year the school •was successful in passing a fair number of boys in the public exminations. If due allowance were made for the comparatively small size of the school the results would compare favourably with those of- otiier similar schools or colleges. This year they were presenting 17 boys for the Civil Service junior exam iiEition. and fouT boys ■ for the Matriculation examination. The school had increased as regards numbers since the end of last year. .There are now 89 boys on the roll, and 79 hoya have been boarders during the year."
