FRANCHISE PROSPECTS
SPOILED BY THE RIOTERS. SIR E. GREY'S ADVICE. (Received 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, December 1. Sir Edward Grey has written to Lord Lytton suggesting that there are better prospects of enfranchising six million women by the amendment of the Government bill, moved by a Cabinet Minister, than by enfranchising a million by the Conciliation Bill; but while disorders similar to those of last week and in the City Temple continue, :.t is a waste of time to actively support the women's cause.
