NATIONAL INSURANCE THROUGH. OPPOSITION LEAVES THE HOUSE. I/ONDON, December 1. In the House of Commons the report stago of the National Insurance Bill has concluded. With the assistance of the guillotine 470 Government amendments were passed. The Unionist leader, Mr. Bonar Law, declared that an outrage was being perpetrated in order that there should be no obstacle. to Home Rule. If the Opposition challenged the divisions the House would have to sit until 7.30 on Saturday evening. ' ' ' The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Lloyd George, said the 'bill was supposed to be non-contentious. The Opposition left the House in a body when the divisions were called. THE SEPARATE FUNDS CONDEMNED BT TRADE UNIONS (Received 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, December 1. The General Federation of Trade Unions strongly protested against the separate administrations of the insurance for Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. The leaders fear disintegration of trade unionism by encouraging the Scottish and Welsh committees to insist on controlling their own business. Medical men declare that Mr. Lloyd George's proffered amendments are utterly inadequate. HALF A MXXXXON PROTESTS. (Received 8 a.m.) LONDON, December 1. Five hundred and twenty-eight thousand protests against the Insurance Bill have reached members of the House of Commons.
