' SERVANTS’ OBJECTIONS. " THE BU-L DENOUNCED. LONDON, November 30. Twelve thousand mistresses and servants assembled at the Albert Hall, at the invitation of the Owuntess Desart, to dismiss the National Insurance Bill, but 10.000 failed to gain admittance. The Countess Desart presided. Countesses Brassey, Mayo, and Portsmouth, and the novelist Mrs. Humphrey Ward were present.
The meeting was lively, various choruses and "'Rule Britainnia" being sung. The Chancellor of tbe Exchequer and author of the bill, Mr Lloyd George, ffas hissed. The speakers, among whom was Mr. Hilaire Bel Joe (Unionist M.P.), deBounced the bill. There were some dij, sentients, but it was resolved by an overwhelming majority that if the domestic service clauses were passed, the country should he organised to resist. Some of the executive who convened the meeting withdrew at the last moment, owing to Mr. Lloyd George's amendments giving servants" a choice of benefits. MEETING THE MEDICAL VIEW. (Received 11.50 a.m.) . LONDON, November 30. As a, result of conferences with the British Medical Association, Mr. LTcyd George has given notice of amendment* giving the doctors increased representation on the health committees. He has arranged that the Conciliation Board shall settle disputes, but local authorities shall arrange, the wmrownitiofl.
