THE ELECTIONS.
m Mr A. R. Atkinson, who contested the Wellington East seat in 1908, has announced that for private reasons he will be unable to enter the political contest this year. Mr. Thos. L. Thompson, who had announced himself as a candidate for Grey Lynn, informs us that he has now at the I request of a large and representative number of electors from City West decided to stand as an "Independent" for that electorate. Th c Opposition party at River-ton will support Mr James King, of Clifden, as a I candidate for Wallace. ■
