CUP COMPETITIONS. BVBRTON AND PONSONBY QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL. The semi-finals of the cup competitions were played at Eden Park on Saturday afternoon, when Everton beat North Shore by 4 goal* to two, and Ponsonby accounted for Carlton by five goals to nil. IVnsouby and Everton will play off in the final on Saturday next. During the second half of the Everton-Shore match, a player of the latter team was ordered off the neld for alleged rough play. When the player reached the touch-line, he appeared to be Involved in a stand-up fight with a spectator, but peace was restored before any serious trouble was reached. By winning this match the Shore are now three points ahead of the next team, with only one more match to be played, and thus cannot be displaced for championship honours. SECOND GRADE.
