THE TAKAPUNA DISTRICT.

A fine new map, snowing the Takapuna riding of the County of Wartemata, has just been issued by the Brett Printing and Publishing Company. It illustrates very markedly the rapid spread of settlement in the Takapuna district since the inauguration of the tram and ferry service. Subdivisions of tne various estates are clearly shown, the tram route being marked with red lines and the 'bus by dotted ones. Takapuna Lake appears under its proper Maori designation of "Pupuke," and the bay between O'Neill's Point and the Narrow Neck is marked as "Xgataringa." The new map is of good size, the scale being 10 chaiiis, to an inch. It was compiled by Colonel A. B. Morrow for the Waitemata County Council. The map is mounted on strong calico and highly varnished, and will b« sold at 15/, or 20/ mounted.
