The steamer Masinganui, built to the order of the Union Steam Ship Company by the Fairfield Engineering Company, Glasgow, was successfully launched on Thursday, The christening ceremony ■was performed by Miss M. Ritchie, daughter of Mr. J. M. Ritchie. The Maunganui is to leave Home in October, and is due at Melbourne about the middle of December, when she will enter the intercolonial service. She will bring a large number of pMaengUß for Melbourne and Sydney on her nraiflfn trip.
