WOMAN'S IDENTITY ESTABLISHED. After having been sworn to as being three different people, the woman who committed suicide in the Town Hall Coffee Palace in George-street, city (says the "Sydney Sun") has been positively identified as a fourth party—'Ellen M. Bouch, a married woman who some time ago kept a lodging-house in Stanleystreet, city. The identification was secured as a result of the photograph printed in 'The Bun." The photograph was seen by Mrs. Gilland, the proprie- j tress of a restaurant in Erskine-street, j city, and she told the police straight , away that the woman who had commit- | ted suicide was Mrs. Bouch, formerly of , Stanley-street. Mrs. Bouch, she said, j had not been in ton good circumstances, , and had not enjoyed the best of health. Some months ago she kept a lodging- ■ house ill' Stanley-street, but sold out the business in June last and sailed for New Zealand on July 10. She arrived in Auckland four days lateT, and on July 26 posted a letter to Mrs. Gilland, which was received five days afterwards. In that letter Mrs. Bouch said she had desired to see her sister, who kept a crockery business in the main street of Auckland, but had not done so. She had not seen her foT over 20 years, and consequently did not like calling upon her. as she was afraid of upsetting her. "I rode past her place on a tram," blic wrote, "hut did not like to get off, I saw my sister standing at the front door." Mrß. Bonch also stated that she was not enjoying the best of health, She said she could not sleep, and altogether was very unwell, . She added that on her return she intended going to Naples, Mrs. Bouch returned from Auckland •n the Friday, and put ag at the

I The City Coroner stated that the in- ' quest, which was. held on the following Monday, could not be reopened now that a verdict had been given. It is also believed that there is no law dealing I with the matter .by which a person can I be compelled to view the body of a dead I person for the purposes of identification I or anything else.
