A BLIND ROAD.
There has been considerable indignation in the One-tree Hill district at Mr. Soathey Inker's expressed intention to '"■" in ii blind mad in some land under liis control. The Board refused to dedicate auili a rM.,,1. but .Mr. Itaker pointed out that it ivm his intention to form tho way, and that lie was of the opinion the Board had no legal right to refuse dedication. At last night's meeting of the Board a litter was received fruiii their solicitor in connection with the case, informing th. in that they had no legal right to refuse dedication. Mr. Craig said that he was vpry much disappointed ihul such was the case. It Was against .11 the Hoard's principles. ->lr. McKinney: It is wrong that wo should have to accept a road that leads nowhere." Mr. linker at this stage left his seat as n member of the Board. TCe said that if the Board did not grant permission to form the road there woislci he no settlement. In«tcad ■ f thirty-four new houses there would be nn open paddock. Mr. McKinney: What nonsense. Finally, under protest, the necessary permiss-on for proceeding with the work »T5 given.
