The AgrieuHiiral Inspector of Schools (Mr. Kalaugtex) paid a visit of inspection to the Albany School on Thursday, August 10th, and expressed Wmself as greatly pleased wit* >the work dope ia connection with "the school gardens. A very successful eoneert was given on Tuesday, 'May 8, In the Albany School in aid at Uhe Hall Fnnd, by a party of Auckland gentlemen, under the direction of Mr. Gordon, Esq. Jnstruraewtal selections were rendered by (Messrs. P. Mondie (flute), G. Eady (clarionet), K. Body (cornet), and 11. Piper (piano). (Mr. G. Bady received an ovation for bis very clever monologue, Voyage at Disaster," and gave as an em "The 11.69 Express." 'Mr. Tonson Garllck also 'had a great reception with his Ihinnorou» "song "The Bassoon." lb. Zante Wood was also very successful with his recitation, "Our Elocution ICaas."
