J£ There teems now to be little doubt but that the wreckage found hear Caps Maria Van Diemea is the remnant of'a mark boat employed by the Terra Nova in the surrey of the Three Kings. The Collector of Customs (Mr H. Ridings) received a telegram from the Secretary of Marine this morning, stating that Robert Forbes, of Lyttelton, had advised the Department that he had supplied the Terra. Nova with stores before she left Lyttelton, and as the barrels forming the raft found near Cape Maria Van Diemen bore the name of Robert Forbes, the Department suggest there i 3 no need for further action, the Secretary expressing the opinion that he thought it was now quite clear that the raft was one of the survey ship's marks. The Collector of Customs at Auckland advised the Marine Department yesterday that-the raft found near Pareng* comprised barrels marked "Robert Forbes, Lyttelton."
