An amending Licensing Bill has beer. tabled in the Assembly. It provides for more drastic penalties for adulteration. Licensing fees are considerably increased. Barmaids may be employed only between nine o'clock in the morning and six in the evening. The clauses controlling the closing hours are very stringent. If the door of a bar be unlocked, or a light be in the bar during prohibited hours, it shall be deemed evidence of an offence.
