AUCKLAND HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.

The executive Committee of the Auckland Hockey Association met iv the Amuteur Sports Club KqQin, on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs H. D. Hill (chairman), ii. (_'. Cuipiin, A. M. ltowe, H. H. Parton, J. R. C. Badnam, T. p, Wrlffley, JT, C. Shirriffls, H. D. Caro, F. B. Taylor, and L. U. Norton (secretary).

It was decided that the representative team shall leave foe Wellington per Mam Trunk express on Tuesday, Bth. August, and Mr 3. U. C. isadha.m (selector) was appointed manager. Two emergency players —a forward and a back—will be selected. The B representatives wilj visit Thames on August while the junior representatives will play Cambridge representatives at Cambridge on the same date. A strong representative team will also travel down to New Plymouth to play Taranaki soon after the return of the Shield team from Wellington. The second grade A section match, Parnoil v. Unitarian, was awarded to the ladtuamed team owing to Pamell playing three senior ex-Grafton players who had not been re-graded. It was decided to play off the sis leading teams iv the second grade A section, and third grade competitions, viz.: A section— College Rifles, Unitarian, University A, Mount Eden, Pimpernel, and Training College; third grade— V.M.C.A., Parnell, Auckland, St. James, Areta, and North Shore.

The Canterbury Hockey Association wrote stating definitely that they will be unable to send a team to Auckland tiiia season. The grand 'Plain ana fancy dress Ekatlng carnival to be held in the Hoyal Hink, JShyber Pass, lias been definitely fixed for Monday evening, August 7, and the subcommittee, Messrs Norton, Parton, Culpan, and Budhani, now have arrangements well in hand. Players desirous of taking part in the carnival hockey matches should communicate with the con. secretary, Mr L. H. Nortffn, 31, Swanson-street.
