Dr. and Mrs. Cole, of Gisbome, are leaving the town by to-day's r-boat, en route to take up residence in'Tauranga. Mr. A. L. D. Fraser, of ITsstings, is definitely announced as a candidate for the lla-wke's Bay seat at-fee nt?xt general election. Mr. JoJin MacPherson; commercial master at the Dunedin Boys'- High , School, died of heart failure on Association.) There passed away at Awahuri oa Saturday a very old Manawatn settler, in the person of Mr. John jßeid), who for many years acted as a Judge at agricnltural shows, being considered one of the best judges of stock in New Zealand.
