ITFTY THOUSAND RANSOM. (Received 8.5 ajn.) CONSTANTINOPLE, July 25. The brigands who captured Professor Bichter, the German archaeologist, have been offered £3000 ransom by his friends, bit demand £50,000.

Troops soundly flogged the inhabitants of the surrounding villages in order to learn the brigands' whereabouts, bnt failed to obtain the information.
