THE '.SWIMMING CONTESTS. LONDON, July 9. An enormous crowd gathered at the
Festival of Empire swimming contests held at the Highgate Ponds. E. Findlay (West Australia) won the King's Cup, securing 30 points, Shiele was second with 20 points, Blatherwick third (14 points), Atkinson (New Zealand) fourth (10 points), and Champion (New Zealand) fifth (six points). Johnson (Canada) won the. 110 yds handicap for overseas visitors, Draper (Canada) \ras Cadet Fumess (New South Wales) third, and HaTdwick ((New South Wales) fourth. An Australasian .running team, consisting of Woodger, Skeet (an old Nelson College boy), Steward (Tasmania.), and '\Yheatley (Victoria) won a mile relay race at the Beckenham sports.
