READING UNIVERSITY.
LONDON, June 30. Lady Wantage, Mr. George William Palmer (of biscuit manufacturing fame), his wife, and Mr. Alfred Palmer have given £50,000 eacli to endow the univerj sity at Reading, with a view to application for a charter as an independent university. Mr. G. Palmer gave a previous £50.000 in 1905.
