THE RACING COMMISSION.
A'WilHI APPEA3J. (By-Telejrrapli.—Own, Correspondent.) : WAIHI, this day. . The-.following, wire was -sent to-the Hon. D. Buddo by Mr. Power, secretary of .the Waihi Jockey Club: "Se JRacing .Commissipn report, the committee of .the Waihi . J .C. strongly protests against the taking , away of-its--totalisator permit. Surely a workitig .cojuhunity, with a. population of over 8000, is entitled to one day's sport. The.."Act seems clear that preference should be given to clubs having one meeting only,' such-as ours. I also tjiat permits are recommended for entirely new places. Trust you' will assist us -to -rectify such- an injustice^".
