-— m ..I CONTRACT FOR £31,000 LET. At last evening's meeting of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board a contract was let for a further section, in connection with the drainage works. This was for contract, No. 11, section 5, from Union-street to Richmond-road, Cox's Creek, Ponsonby. The engineer's estimate for the work was £31,800. The following tenders were received: Messrs. Alexander Watson, £37,784 7/6; Mays and Gordon, £35,288 10/5; Adams Bros., £33.956; G. Niccol, £32,986 9/; and J. A. Moody, £31,234. The lowest tender, that of Mr. J. A. Moody, of £31,234, was accepted, and the deposit of the second lowest retained. With this contract let the Board have £193,000 of work in hand.
