ALLOCATING MINDS.
The monies collected ..by the various bodies and-citizens "in - aid'of the families who suffered as a result of the Ton sonby-road fire have tieen finally allocated, and the treasurer (Mr. J. S. Brigham) notified' the trustees.yesterday .that ; iies was ;rea,dy .to- pay the.lbeneficiaries their respective share's. The total receipts amount to £1367 19/6. Of this £46 9/10 has been expended in affording-the sufferers immediate relief, and £15 14/6 was absorbed in hall rent and sundry expenses, leaving a •balance of £1305 15/2 for distribution. This is being- apportioned as follows:— To Mr. Charles Porteous, £353,15/10; to Mrs. Edith Porteous (his-wife), £388 18/10; to Mr. B. Mountifieid,- £238 IS/!); to Mrs. Ruth Mountifield (his wife) £238 IS/9; to Master Charles Porteous £50,. 'The Porteous family thus receive £827. 17/8, .-and'i>iie Mountifield family im Aim® '•<-■■■
The trustees, the Mayor of Auckland (Mr C. J. Parr) and Mr. Arthur M. Myers, M.P., propose to invest the £50 for Charles Porteous until he reaches the ago of 21 years.
