NATIVE LAND COURT.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. The half-yearly sitting of the Native Land Court is being held, but no very important business has yet been dealt with, the session will be a quiet one. The principal business which Judge Holland has had to deal with has been in the nature of partition and succes; sion cases, principally appointing successors to deceased owners, "the land involved being mostly on the Hauraki Peninsula. A partition case in connection with, a piece of land on the Piako Swamp, which will be heard, is one of considerable importance. It deals with an area of land on the northern end of the peninsula. While one party seeks to obtain the sanction of the Court to sale, another party claims that the land was previously sold to him. It is anticipated that the hearing oi the case will take somp. considerable time.
