HAMILTON, this day.
After a delay of six months, Mr. A. Chocqueet has just received a permit, enabling him to commence the manufacture of tobacco here.
It is stated that au umbrella factory is to be erected in Hamilton at an early date.
Good entries have'been received for the Waikato - Boxing Association's tournament, commencing on Tuesday, including a number of Aucklanders. Arrangements are being' made for a six-round bout between two well-known lightweights.
A private cable received from - Sydney announces-the sudden death of Mr. Wm. Pearaoq, formerly a Hamilton boy.
Mr. H. J. ■ Greenslade, M.P., has received a communication from the Minister for Public Works, in reply to a letter, suggesting a trial survey for a line of railway to connect Raglan with the Waipa Collieries Company's line, from Ngaruawahia to Te Akatea, stating that the Government could not undertake the work. The Minister vouchsafed the statement that iv all probability the railway which' will ultimately connect Raglan with the Main Trunk lino wfll tt*rt ftrom Hiattjr..k .._-
