•'PYGMALION AMD GALATEA." A most enjoyable evening w.as spent by a crowded, audience at All saints' Hail last ev.eniug, when, a double bill was presented in the nrst part, theHev. A. H. Coiviie gave an interesting- address on "sport," which was much appreciated, and, in addition, gave two recitations in characteristic style Xhe second part of the evening was occupied by the Ponsonoy Shakespeare and ilhetorje club, which gave a reading or ■Gilbert-'s-. charming mythological comedy, ••iiygmajJon and, Galatea." The piece was in excellent hands,, and was.tollowed with the greatest whUe the constant ripple of' laughter was. sufficient evidence ,thftt; the/ rich humour, was thoroughly appreciated. The,, part of Pygmalion was capably, sustaip_ed by I'raiessor Maxwell Walker, who was splendidly seconded by -Miss Eileen. Cottrell, an ideal-Galatea. Miss Cottrell showed up. to fine advantage la her scenes, with Mrs. Forsyth (Daphne) and Mr H. Hemus (Cbrysos), both of whom were in excellent form, and called form peal after peal of laughter and applause from the audience. Mrs P. H. Cole did excellently, as Cynlsca, while Miss Madge Stubbs and Mr W. U. Graham made a good deal of tlie subsidiary parts of Myrine antf I.eueippus. Mr X. U. Salt (Agesimos) ana Mr J. W: Kealy (Mimos) aiso contributed their share to an. excellent performance. The orchestral music- was supplied by the newly-formed All Saints' Orchestra, which ''showed- decided premise of developing into *tfwaajjWfc-sflteietf . sauat>ia*tion. I,Jj[
