(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. An accident occurred this morning on the surface works of the Waihi mine. A miner named Sam Thornally, working with Thompson's mullock-breaking party, was knocked down 'by a fall of country, and severely injured. He noticed the fall coming, and just had time to turn round when the fall struck him heavily on. the 'back. He was removgd in tihe ambulance to the Hospital, suffering great pain. I understand that some ribs are broken, and that one is piercing the lungs.
